An 'intensityQuantity' parameter is added to some light sources (e.g., quad, point, spot) to
define the interpretation of the color * intensity value to physical-correct radiative quantities
such as: radiance, radiative intensity or power.
We now test different combinations of renderers (e.g., scivis,
pathtracer) for all our light source types (e.g., ambient, distant,
quad, sphere, spot).
All light source regression tests are now part of
apps/ospTestSuite/test_light.cpp and removed from test_geometry.cpp.
Added tests for geometry lights, where the light material is either
defined directly coupled with the geometry or by referencing a material
from the material list of the renderer.
Since we assume that the cosine falloff is already included in the IES light
distribution function we remove the falloff when the spot light has a radius > 0.
The color * intensity parametrization is now defined to represent the radian
intensity of the spot or point light source and is converted into radiance, if
radius > 0.
During the conversion the overall emitted power of the light source into the
scene stays the same when the size of the disk or sphere light changes.
Added legacy fix for spot lights (factor 0.5 on radiance) to keep the look
similar.
Added cosine falloff to real spot light (radius=0) to match disk light emission
behavior
We are now checking for changes in the behavior of virtual light sources.
The current tests include
- point light sources (i.e., sphere with radius = 0)
- sphere light sources (i.e., sphere with radius > 0)
- spot light sources (i.e., spot with radius = 0)
- disk light sources (i.e., sphere with radius > 0)
- photometric light sources (radius = and > 0)
- quad light
- support for Box and Gaussian (analytical importance sampling),
as well as Mitchel and Blackmann-Harris (LUT sampling)
- filter is an attribute of the Renderer and can be set as
"pixelFilter" parameter
- ospExample UI allows to switch between the implemented
filters and to set the used width of the filter
